Online Comprehensive Cognitive Assessment
CNS Vital Signs is an online comprehensive cognitive assessment that allows a more in-depth analysis of you cognitive abilities and processes.
This assessment can be used as a baseline screen initially and then then every 9 to 12 months to monitor for changes or improvements.
It is a more robust cognitive assessment tool than some of the in-clinic assessments such as MoCA (Montreal Cognitive Assessment) and MMSE (Mini Mental State Examination) which are validated to show what is called Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)
The CNS Vital Signs assessment takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes and is performed remotely online.
Some degree of computer literacy will be needed.
The test needs to be authorized and paid for before you are given access to the CNS remote cognitive function testing system.
The access is valid for only 7 days if not completed within this time the test can be reauthorized once more.
After authorization, you will receive an email from CNS Vital Signs with instructions and links.
Have a careful read of the instructions and you will also have an opportunity to check your computer and keyboard are working optimally before undertaking the actual tests themselves.
If there are already significant symptoms with cognition you might need to be given a bit of assistance in how to set up for the various tests and practice on the computer but be careful that no further assessment help is given as this will give false results.
Please note: For severe cognitive symptoms this assessment is not suitable as invariably the assessment is too difficult and the results will show a poor assessment.
