Clinical Nutritionist

Based in Cairns, North Queensland, my interest in nutrition really began long before I did any formal study.

In my late teens I saw a naturopath and it completely shifted the way I thought about health. I became fascinated by the impact of the foods I was eating and how that showed up in my body. That early experience stayed with me as I worked as an accountant and financial controller, but it was having children that truly ignited my passion for nutrition. I found myself reading ingredient lists on packaged foods and built awareness of what we were actually eating – who knew spinach wraps were green because of blue and yellow food colouring?!

This led me on a new career path. I have worked in health food stores and supporting practitioner education. As a numbers girl I’m especially interested in diagnostics and interpreting blood test results — not just in isolation but understanding what they mean in the context of the individual sitting in front of me. I’ve completed extensive mentoring and diagnostic mastercourses with highly regarded Naturopathic educator Rachel Arthur, which has shaped the way I view pathology and clinical nutrition.

My approach is very much back to basics, starting with foundational diet and lifestyle changes and building from there. Alongside individualised support, I help my patients make meaningful changes that are not only effective, but realistic enough to maintain well beyond our time working together.

Outside of clinic life, I’m a mum to three teenagers. As a family, we’re heavily involved in surf lifesaving and everything that entails — volunteering, patrolling, competing and travelling down south at every opportunity to catch some real waves! I especially value the lifelong friendships and supportive community.
