Tim Jaeger

Nutritional Medicine Specialist and Bredesen Protocol Certified

Apart from being a person with a passion to help our clients in clinic, a nerdy scientist at times, someone that enjoys/ enjoyed running, road cycling and playing lacrosse (even played in the 1998 World Lacrosse Championship in Baltimore USA in the German National Lacrosse Team) and someone busy doing all the other ‘things’ we do and think are so important in our lives, I’m really and most importantly a father and husband and lastly a friend to all the people in my life.

I have to remind myself of this importance, when things get busy and I don’t stop to enjoy what I have.

Ok, so why did I get to this place in my life.

The short story is when I met my wife I was introduced to her dad, Umberto Martino.

He was a man who I never truly got to know and not because he was difficult or hard to understand but because he actually had undiagnosed Alzheimer’s and for many years had probably being experiencing slow cognitive decline. At first you might have been able to label it SCI (subjective cognitive impairment, only really noticed by the person themselves and may be other close friends or family) and then MCI (mild cognitive impairment, measureable and can be noticed by many of the people around them) but it was passed off as ‘getting old’.

So you see I never got to meet the funny, inventive, high skilled, stubborn and gentle man he actually was or had been for most of his life and so a singular event and date marked what would become the moment I would change how I thought and what I wanted to do in my life.

On the 20ieth of August, 2010, a meeting with a caring neurologist made me stop and finally start to read that book on Alzheimer’s I had bought 2 years before, and the rest, as they say, is history.

I started reading and I never really stopped, as well as reading up on Alzheimer’s, specifically, I started to read everything and anything that was related to health, so here we are now a qualified Nutritional Medicine Specialist with a bent for science and a realisation that there is so much more and that there is no one. singular absolute answer.

We are all our own N=1 experiment, all individuals and that’s where we, at Natural Health Medicine, come in.

We are your bridge, your coach, your nutritionist, your naturopath, your technical support and your very own research scientist.

As you can guess I specialise in treating cognitive decline but we all work on many other body systems including digestion/ gastrointestinal function/ SIBO, autoimmunity, fatigue, hormones and CVD (cardiovascular disease).

Please join us, take care, Tim Jaeger.

Alzheimer's - Bredesen Protocol 1

Reversing Cognitive Decline Program 1:

Cognoscopy – Getting Started Cognitive Assessment Package

Dr Bredesen calls it a ‘Cognoscopy’ a bit like a colonoscopy that you get when you turn over 50 that checks for colorectal cancer. Here the cognoscopy starts to evaluate all the potential contributors and risk factors that are associated with cognitive decline. You will get in person initial and review appointments but it also includes time spent by the clinic team reviewing and assessing of your entire case history, new pathology and framework for your individualized treatment plan. Reversing cognitive decline is multifaceted and also requires a multi-person team approach to maximize all areas needed to be addressed.

This package offers you the bare minimum needed to make a scientifically validated assessment on how to start and what to change to optimize your brain health. Further clinic appointments can be made to continue your own individualized program but are not part of this packaged costs.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the duration of the Comprehensive Program?

On average this package will take approximately 6 months, but we know that some people run through it quicker and some longer depending on your style of learning and time commitments. You have 12 months to complete it if needed.

Why should I take a package?

Because whilst making lifestyle changes are simple, we know it’s not always easy to change habits and learn new ways. We want your changes to continue on so education and support is a big part of this program.

    Are supplements included?

No because supplementation is based on many factors, and are dependent on your results and your genetics/family history. These where and when needed incur an additional cost.

Are all the tests done at the beginning?

Yes these tests are done mostly at the start of your journey with us, there may be some exceptions. We will let you know when you require more.

What happens if I start the Comprehensive Program and then decide this isn’t the right fit for me?

You have the option after your second appointment to opt out, this will still provide you with a great initial appointment, review appointment and results interpretation, and you will be refunded all money’s less these two appointments and testing ($1330).

What options do I have for payment arrangements for the Comprehensive Program?

    • Payments made in full will attract $100 DISCOUNT ($3215), this must be made at least 1 week prior to the initial appointment.
    • Otherwise a deposit of $1,985 (includes testing) is required at least 1 week prior to your initial appointment and have 4 weeks after your initial appointment to pay the balance of $1,330.

Why is there a cost without testing is this optional?

Testing is not optional but if you are able to have your bloods done through your doctor or have been tested in the last month then you do not need to pay for these tests (please note: tests must be morning fasted between 8 to 12 hours and no excessive exercise 24 hours prior to them being done).

Can I claim through private health funds?

Yes you can, please advise us at the end of your sessions and we will provide claimable receipts. It important to ensure that you check with your own health fund, as it differs depending on the health provider and your cover. Some allow you to claim group sessions and others do not.
